India test-fires battlefield nuclear-capable missile

The indian Defence Research and Development Organization have test fired a battlefield nuclear capable missile shortly after a similar test by Pakistan. The Prithvi II should take 300 seconds to travel 150 km (90 miles) to target. [Source:Reuters]


The tests have taken place in the context of a the resumed peace talks suspended after trains were bombed in Mumbai. According to, ” The two have opened their once-tightly guarded border, and are observing a ceasefire in Kashmir, although a lasting solution on the Himalayan region – the primary source of tension between them – is still nowhere in sight. “[]
